Don’t waste your money on things you don’t need
It might be tempting to spend your first paycheck or your first raise on some of the things you’ve been wanting to have for a while rather than on things you really need. But it won’t do you any good at the end of the day. “Don’t spend so much money on clothing,” says Michelle Schroeder-Gardner, founder of the personal finance blog “Making Sense of Cents. “I’ve worked full-time since I was around the age of 14, yet I didn’t really start saving money until nearly a decade later.”
It’s important to separate your wants from your needs. Once you are able to do that, you’ll also be able to think smarter when it comes to your money.
