Don’t Get Scammed
The most important thing you can do during this time is to stay cautious and stay out of trouble. Despite the trying times ahead, a new wave of scammers is said to hit the U.S., according to the Federal Trade Commission.
Some might claim they can sell you unproven treatments for the virus, so stay informed on what the authorities say and question any claims you see online or in real life. Others might try to sell you fake testing kits or might lie about running the test on you and your family themselves. If you’re concerned about having caught the virus, contact trusted medical professionals instead.
You might even get shady phone calls or emails, you might see price gauging online. The best thing you can do is to not allow the panic to set in, as that’s when we’re most vulnerable.
