27. Headphones with cords
Hooray for headphones: They let listeners tune in privately to music, podcasts and audiobooks, or just cancel out the annoying noise of a busy plane or office.
But headphones are changing: Eventually, they’ll mostly move to a wireless version, where you don’t have to plug in the headphones to a computer or phone. The cordless versions do seem safer: No more worries about tripping over the cord while running on a treadmill, or accidentally stepping on it while bending down. For now, you can still use your corded ones, but the next time you buy a set, you’ll probably want to think seriously about cutting the cord.
