7. Get an Extra Veggie for Free
No, you can’t just walk up to the cashier and ask for free veggies. Instead, you have to be careful about the bagged groceries that you want to get such as apples, potatoes, or onions.
Before you select which back you’re going home with, weigh a couple of them. You’ll notice that all of them have weights marked on them- these are the minimum requirements, by law. Some may weigh a little bit more than others, so you can usually buy more for the same price!
8. Skip the Shopping Cart
When you run into the grocery store to “pick up a few items,” carry them in your arms instead of using a cart or shopping basket. By forcing yourself to hold your purchases, you’ll be less likely to buy things you didn’t intend to buy and don’t truly need.
Need to run into a store to pick up a few things? Whatever you do, don’t get a shopping cart. Without a basket, you’ll be forced to carry your things- and there’s only so much you can carry. This will help you save money by making you avoid any unnecessary, split-second decision purchases!
9. Skip the Shaving Cream
By using a bar of soap instead of unnecessary expensive shaving creams, you’ll have a ton of money in the long run.
Do it like they did it in the olden days by also purchasing an old-fashioned bristle brush. With it, you can lather up and get the cleanest, most affordable shave of your life!
