Eureka Springs, Arkansas
You’ve surely heard of Hot Springs and if you thought a place like that would suit your retirement if it weren’t for the droves of tourists, then we’re happy to present Eureka Springs instead!
This much smaller mountain town will make you feel as thought you’ve landed in the Victorian era thanks to its incredibly well preserved structures, including the Basin Park and Crescent hotels and the Palace Hotel & Bath House.
But there’s more to Eureka Springs than its history and architecture. For example, if you’re a fan of dining out and experiencing new tastes, there’s a local Fudge factory, a brewery, teahouse, an ice-cream parlor, and a patisserie in addition to the town’s numerous restaurants.
You also can’t miss nearby Thorncrown Chapel, a local wildlife refugee, and if you’re truly a fan of the outdoors you should know there are plenty of opportunities in Eureka, including fishing, biking, golfing, hiking and paddleboarding.
