Connecticut: Guilford
Guilford is one of the few towns in the region that succeeded in preserving its small-town vibe and individuality, compared to other places in the area, such as the New Haven suburbs of Branford and Madison. In fact, Guilford is the proud owner of the third-largest collection of historical homes in all of New England.
With history going as back as 1639, the small, rustic town boasts a wide variety of historical museums, inns, taverns, and farms.
