22. Too-Good-to-Be-True Rental
If you’re looking for an apartment to rent and come across a crazy good deal in a nice neighborhood, you are going to want to jump on the opportunity. But if you’re doing your search through Craigslist or a less-than-trustworthy platform, you might want to think twice before providing your personal information and a security deposit before you’ve even seen the place.
There’s a decent chance if the price is too good to be true, it is—the house may not actually be for rent or the person you’re communicating with is not a real-estate agent, but a scammer.
