Sometimes a direct one-on-one invitation can strike the wrong note—either the lonely person you’re inviting feels too much pressure, or you might end up in an awkward situation. In these cases, doing something with a group of people and inviting the solo person along is a great way to get them to get out of the house without feeling coerced.“If you are hosting a gathering, take a moment and think about the people in your life who might be delighted to have an invitation to join you,” life coach Judith Johnson.
