Bank Your Bonuses
Getting a bonus? You might already be thinking of all the nice things you’re going to get. But it’s important to separate your needs from your wants. Instead of already thinking of all the stuff you’re going to buy, immediately deposit the extra cash in a savings account.
This is especially important if you’re already getting by with your current wages. If you don’t technically need the extra money, don’t spend it all in one go. If you find this concept difficult as it is, plan on spending some of the cash on ONE thing, such as a nice lunch and dinner to celebrate your efforts at work.
Once that is done, everything else should go into your savings.
