Furniture can be very tricky to shop for and a lot of people seem to be put off by it. But here are our two golden rules!
One, you should always take pictures of your rooms before heading out. Yes, you probably know the layout of your house by heart. But having the photos on you can give you a better idea of what color scheme you’re going for. Furniture in thrift stores can be so varied that it’s easy to get lost in too many shapes, sizes, and shades.
Two, always measure everything! Not just where you want your new couch to fit, but also doorways and tight corners. What might fit in your house might not fit entryways or staircases. Bonus point, prepare yourself for the move in advance with excellent pivot techniques à la Ross Geller.
So, that’s our list of tricks! If you apply any of them to your next shopping spree you’ll be winning at thrifting.
