The spray-can wood finish appeared in the Family Handyman magazine in 1958, but the product itself had been invented around 1949. That’s when Bonnie Seymour suggested to her paint salesman husband, Ed, that paint could and should be packaged in an aerosol can.
Her inspiration? The deodorizers she used around the house. Ed got to work and the rest is history!
