Replacing windows costs $150 to $750 for the window alone. Add the labor costs of approximately $100 to $300 per window and you get a pretty hefty price. Unfortunately, older homes have drafty wooden windows that are not energy-efficient and replacing them with more modern types may be even costlier.

On average, replacing the wood windows in a three-bedroom house can cost between $3,000 to $10,000.  “Older homes may not be energy efficient,” says Bianca Colasuonno. “You want to make sure you update windows and doors to something modern but classy, which can save you a lot of money on heating bills.”
