15 Items That You Completely Forgot to Replace

Contact lens case

Proper care of everything associated with your contact lenses is crucial for good eye health. While most people take very good care of their contact lenses, cleaning them before and after using them, the same cannot be said about the lens case.

“Your contact lens case is like a little petri dish,” says Jennifer Fogt, O.D., an associate professor in the College of Optometry at The Ohio State University. “Bacteria can get in there and grow, and if you’re not cleaning your case regularly, you’re just reintroducing that back into your contacts when you put them in the case at night.”

According to the American Optometric Association, it’s not enough to use a disinfectant to clean the lens cases, these should be replaced every three months.
