Do not use dark colors to paint to the whole room

We have to admit that dark colors are really beautiful and make our rooms more mysterious and interesting, but only if we play with these colors on a single wall. Sometimes, painting your whole room dark gray, green or blue is too much to handle.

“Painting the entire room a dark color can close [it] in quickly,” says Johnson. But if you want to visually maximize your home you should use dark colors to paint two opposite walls, because this way you will “visually push the walls out, making the room feel bigger than it is.”
