This mountainous Tennessee town goes by many names, not just Jonesborough. It’s known as the Volunteer State’s oldest town, so for seniors who want to stay close to our history, it’s a great place to retire. But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have modern amenities you can enjoy throughout your retirement.
Also, it’s known as the Storytelling Capital of the World, too, thanks to its annual National Storytelling Festival, which takes place in October. It’s also the home of the International Storytelling Center. Here, maybe you could finally get around to writing that book you’ve been meaning to write all these years!
Your every day life here will be peppered with hiking, biking, fabulous meals at many restaurants, plenty of shops to peruse and, finally, museums and festivals to help you break out of the norm!
