When Georgia O’Keeffe moved to Abiquiu in 1949, she helped put the little mountain town on the map. Since then, this area has been known as paradise for art lovers. Situated between Santa Fe and Taos, you can always go for a short drive for a change in scenery, but we still think you’ll find plenty to do in little Abiquiu.
The Ghost Ranch is a 21,000-square-foot retreat and education center. Here you can learn both about O’Keeffe’s artwork and ancient and modern history. They also offer workshops and tours for the whole family but if you want to learn more about the artist herself, for example when you’re in need of inspiration, you can also visit her home and studio.
The Purple Adobe Lavender Farm is a one of a kind farm you can explore on sunny days. Loved by the community, this farm also has a teahouse opened seasonally!
