13 Cleaning Mistakes You’re Probably Making at Home

Not Cleaning Your Light Switches

Like the doorknobs in your kitchen, your light switches are just as attractive to germs and grime, and they don’t get the attention that they deserve. Again, think about how often you touch them during the day.

It’s best if you clean all of them (yes, all!) once a week. But if someone in your household is sick, you have to clean them even more often. You don’t need to use any fancy supplies, either. Antibacterial wipes, which we’re sure by now everyone has in shocking amounts around their home, should do the job!

Get basic wipes from Target to save some money, as you don’t necessarily need the fancier kind unless you’ve forgotten to scrub your light switches for weeks on end, in which case you may need something stronger and a bit of elbow grease to get them perfectly cleaned.
