Even if you don’t feel like hitting the gym, sweating it out in the sauna may have similar effects on your health and happiness. Enjoying some time in the sauna can help relax tense muscles, reducing your stress level along the way, and research published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that middle-aged men who regularly spent time in a sauna over a 20-year period lived longer and were significantly less likely to develop heart disease.
