9 Sneaky Tactics Retailers Use to Trick You into Making a Purchase

Easy returns

Since we don’t have to worry about being stuck with a product if we don’t like it, easy returns make a lot of us more confident in our cart’s selection. Take this year for example. Out of $7.4 billion in sales on Black Friday, UPS had to return around 1.6 million products per day around Christmas. Another 2 million returns happened around January.

No matter how easy they make these returns, retailers know not everyone is likely to go ahead and start the process. Some pass items along to friends or families, give them as gifts or just forget about them entirely.

Our advice is not to ignore easy return policies, but don’t let them be the catalyst behind your purchases.
