According to the United States Department of Agriculture, raw meat should be stored below 40°F, and it’s also recommended to eat it within two days after purchasing it. If you store it for a longer period of time, your fresh meat will definitely grow bacteria and it can make you sick very easily.
If you know you won’t be cooking it within two days after purchase, you need to store it in the freezer until the day you’re actually cooking it. If properly stored, raw meat and ground beef will last for four months or so.
