People have a tendency to think they can better themselves by addressing their weaknesses, but developing existing strengths is much more doable. Attempting to change weaknesses can often result in failure – not the best way to improve self-esteem. Using your strengths in everyday life and focusing on improving skills you already have can reinforce self-efficacy and increase happiness.
