Uncertain Times: 21 Tips to Boost Your Emergency Fund

Make a Budget

You won’t get very far if you don’t make a budget- and stick to it! It’s time to cut down your expenses so that you’ll reach your goal. It’s best to plan things out so your emergency fund will be ready sooner rather than later, but that all depends on how many expenses you can reliably cut.

For example, it might be easier to give up on a subscription service than, say, to start learning how to cook instead of always ordering food. Of course, the more aggressively you budget, the faster you’ll be done.

Ask yourself a series of questions in regard to your lifestyle. What can you give up on? Are you allowing room for occasional necessary expenses? What cheaper alternative can you find for an item or an activity?
