Ok, if it’s their Sweet Sixteen, you may want to go overboard and organize a birthday party your children will always remember. But if you’re celebrating any other of their birthdays, there’s really no need to go to extremes and spend more than you can afford on multiple parties, such as one at school, one with each side of the family, and a friends-only party.

Another common thing parents usually waste their money on is party favors that don’t really impress children.
