Are you not happy with the way your toaster toasts your toast? Before you start pointing the finger at the small appliance, make sure you’re not the one to blame for not cleaning it properly. It’s important to remove the crumbs from the crumb catcher every week, especially if you use your toaster every day.
If there’s no tray, Shimek recommends turning the toaster upside down in your sink and shaking out as many crumbs as possible. “Be sure to wipe down the outside of the toaster with a damp cloth to remove any crumbs that might have missed the sink,” he says.
