Dish towel
It’s a proven fact that people clean their carpets around the house more frequently than their dish towels in the kitchen. If you’re one of them, you might want to reconsider your cleaning strategy. That’s because according to a recent study, dish towels are swarming with bacteria that can cause food poisoning and other foodborne illnesses.
Dish towels are easy to overlook, especially when they seem to be squeaky clean after drying. But because they are being used on practically any surface, from tables to kitchen counter and dishes, they can get become very dirty and an ideal environment for bacteria such as E. coli or staph and mold, according to the American Society of Microbiology.
