Casu Marzu
Casu Marzu is a type of cheese from the Italian island of Sardinia, made from sheep milk. But that’s not all. Casu Marzu also contains live maggots, the result of the cheese’s exposure to fly larvae.
The fact that anyone would want to eat this stinky cheese is beyond our comprehension. But hey, to each their own. In the United States, as well as in the European Union, Casu Marzu has been banned for the health risks that it poses.
