10. Your Eyes Look Red in Photos Because of Blood
There have been many creepy speculations as to why our eyes turn red when we’re having photos taken, but there’s a simple, non-scary explanation behind it. It’s all because of the flash and the effect can be seen more clearly when taking photos in the dak.
That’s when your pupils will dilate. They won’t have time to retract when you use a flash, so you’ll basically be taking a picture of the inside of your eye. The red you see is the light that reflects off blood vessels on your choroid, a connective tissue at the back of your eyes.
