Pets aren’t just adorable, they can also provide enormous benefits to our health. Studies have shown that pet owners aren’t as prone to cholesterol, high blood pressure or cardiovascular diseases. They keep a little more active than the average person, after all. But that’s not all. Being around friendly pets can also lower or stress hormone, cortisol.
If you don’t have a pet, don’t worry. If you have time see if you can do a little pet sitting around the neighborhood. If that’s not an option, why not volunteer at a local shelter?
