16. Install a new light fixture.
A new light fixture can be just the thing you need for your home. Look around any given room. Do you think it needs a little refresher but you aren’t even sure where to begin? If you feel like something is missing but you don’t necessarily want to change your bookshelves, switches, or lights then that thing that’s bothering you might be the light fixture.
Needless to say, you can find a myriad of styles in any home good store. If you’re looking for a vintage look you might even want to pop on over to your local thrift store or antique store for something unique, though!
17. Replace your existing bulbs with LEDs.
And while we’re still on the topic of lights, make sure to also upgrade your light bulbs. By switching to LEDs you’ll not only add more shine to your home but you’ll also help make it greener!
When I made the switch in my own home it was like a whole new world opened up in front of me. With the added brightness I felt the sudden need to redecorate the whole space, so I moved the furniture up a bit and voila, it was like I was in a brand new living room with very minimal effort!
Need I also add that LEDs will also save you money on your electric bill? What’s not to love?
18. Install under-cabinet lighting.
After all that’s said and done maybe you think there still isn’t enough light in your kitchen. Well, you can’t very well bring down a wall and add a new window, but what you can do is add under-cabinet lighting for a modern or industrial look.
These normally come with an adhesive back and run on batteries so, really, it’ll only take a few minutes for you to install them. If all your other rooms get a bit of mood lighting, why not your kitchen?
These are also functional, they’ll make cleaning and cooking a lot easier and you’ll be left wondering why you haven’t done this earlier.
