22. Paint your front door.
We believe the outside of your home should reflect the inside. Your front door is one of the first things people see so you should give them an idea of what’s waiting just beyond the threshold. Go for something vibrant and fun to stand out such as a Kelly green, sunny yellow or fire engine red.
Alternatively, if you’re going for a more modern, sleek look then a glossy black door will stand out just as much without clashing with whatever’s waiting inside.
Again, this is a very useful tip if you’re looking to sell your home. Buyers will immediately feel inspired and excited without so much as stepping foot inside.
23. Plant some flowers in the front yard.
If you have outdoor space then you need to give it as much attention as the inside of your house. Gardening might seem like hard work but if you’re careful, you can do most of the work in under an hour. Plant a few nice flowers and bushes to begin with. Of course, you have to maintain them with fertilizer or water, plus general upkeep from time to time.
Gardening is, after all, a great way to stay productive and spend some more time out in the sun. If you haven’t been complemented on your garden in a while then it’s time to change that. Before long, all your guests will have nothing but nice things to say about your flowerbeds! Hey, don’t forget to add some of those solar lights while you’re at it!
