55 Rampant Health Myths That Need to Die

Myth: Juice is a healthy alternative to soda

‘Whole fruits and vegetables are very good for you, but the problem with fruit juice is that it’s high in sugar and lacking in fiber, leaving you with a rapid rise in insulin.

Sugar then gets pumped into fat cells and ultimately converted to fat. The ingestion of juice also increases food intake. Water, on the other hand reduces food intake. Instead of swapping soda for juice, stick with calorie-free drinks such as water, black tea, or coffee.’ – Robert Ziltzer, MD, FACP, FAAP obesity medicine specialist at the Scottsdale Weight Loss Center.
