Save Any Other Unexpected Money
Unexpected money is particularly difficult to come by- so much so that we might think it’s a myth altogether. We’re talking about birthday cards stuffed with a little bit of money or work bonuses. They don’t happen very often, especially when compared to unexpected expenses.
However, when they do, it’s best not to spend it all at once. As with a raise, try to put the majority of it away for rainy days. Use a small portion to get yourself something you like or splurge on a nice meal with friends to mark the occasion, but your future self will be far happier if you keep these expenses to a minimum.
